Welcome
to the Cotgrave Colts Football Club Website.
Cotgrave
is a small town situated south/east of the city of Nottingham.
We have junior football teams ranging from Under-6's
right up to Under-16's. Most of the teams play in the Young
Elizabethan League.
Cotgrave
Colts Football Club was formed in 1991 with the simple aims
and objectives being (a) to promote and provide regular organised
football for the benefit of the boys/girls of the area and
(b) to foster and encourage good sportsmanship amongst its
members.
Since
that time the Club has continually grown and now provides
regular football for approximately 200 boys/girls aged
6 to 16, every weekend.
Despite
this continued growth the club has retained its admirable
aims by providing a safe and friendly environment for the
players to enjoy their football in the best traditions of
Sportsmanship. Ian Lynn (Cotgrave Colts Chairman)
The
colours of Claret & Blue are recognised
within Nottingham football as being Cotgrave Colts colours.
The first kit used was orange, which was supplied by Cotgrave
Sports Association (CSA Colts) but
we changed to claret when we brought ourselves a new kit during
the 91/92 season and became Cotgrave Welfare Colts - every
Cotgrave Colts team has worn Claret since. The Claret was
copied from Cotgrave 'Villa' who Kev Cooper played for at
the Colliery Ground and then disbanded the same season Colts
started.

extremely proud of this achievement. The award recognises
