First halfCotgrave got off to another great start today, taking the lead on 5 minutes, after Keenan Berry slotted a great through ball to Johnny Commins who blasted the ball into the top corner. Only two minutes later Keyworth got a well-deserved equaliser, after breaking quickly and caught the Cotgrave defence sleeping. Neither side had many efforts after the first two goals were scored. Cotgrave got themselves a corner with just seconds of the first half remaining; Keyworth managed to scramble the ball clear, and again broke so quickly on the counter attack. Keyworth took the lead with the last kick of the half to make it 2-1. Half time Keyworth 2 – 1 CotgraveSecond half Keyworth started the second half brightly, and scored their third goal on 29minutes. The next ten-minute spell saw Cotgrave under attack, but the lads battled well to keep the ball out of the net. Keyworths hard work paid off on 40 minutes when they grabbed their fourth goal of the game. Keyworth then went on to score again on 43 and 47 minutes to make it 6-1. Final Score Keyworth 6– 1 Cotgrave SummaryWe started well again today, and the first half was evenly matched. Keyworth had more chances in the first half, but were denied by some great saves by Jake Reed. We never really created enough opportunities to score today, and Keyworths ability and experience always gave them the slight advantage. At times, our defending was poor again, but we have to remember Keyworth are a Division 1 side, and they were very well organised and always looked dangerous, every time they attacked. Well done to everyone for their efforts today, and lets look forward to our next game against Beeston on Sunday. |
