Cotgrave Colts Claret 1 Sandiacre Town 1
2nd December 2007

Sandiacre got the game underway today, and immediately put Cotgrave under pressure. Sandiacre's precision passing and movement lead to the first goal in the 7th minute, to make it 1-0 to Sandiacre. Cotgrave battled well and threw everything they had at Sandiacre, and equalised in the 12th minute through Keenan Berry. The remainder of the first half remined fairly even, but Sandiacre always looked a threat.

Sandiacre dominated the second half, but Cotgrave battled well and frustrated the opposition. Sandiacre bombarded the Cotgrave goal with shots coming in from most of their team, but Cotgrave stood firm and remained focused. Sandiacre's best effort came in the last minute when a Sandiacre midfielder took on three Cotgrave players, and ended up one on one with Jake. Jake pulled off the save of the season, to frustrate Sandiacre further, and keep the score level at 1-1.

Summary

We knew today's game was going to be our toughest test so far, as Sandiacre are sitting proudly at the top of the table unbeaten. Gary and I gave the players a job to do, and they all stuck to their task superbly today. Well done to everyone today for giving 110%. It was a very hard battle out there today and i'm sure most of you will be exhausted. Our unbeaten run continues, so we are still making excellent progress, and our top three finish that i have challenged you to get, is still very much in our hands. Well i'm off for some winter sun in Tenerife next Friday, so hope you all enjoy your friendly against Edwalton next Sunday.

A very hard fought game, under preassure for most of the second half but end to end in the first.

Sorry i don't know your names boys but number 9 reminds me of a young Jimmy Whitehead number 5 a young looking Lewis Dobbins and Keaton Powell just like his older brother strong and determined. For me today the young man in goal was man of the match some outstanding saves from point blank range he kept Cotgrave in the game.

Congratulations to all involved today a very gritty determined performance some good young players in the making. Well done and good luck for the rest of the season.

That now makes it six games without defeat I believe. This though in my mind was the best result of all this season. This was a game against top of the league who are unbeaten and a very good side.

The first half was even and Cotgrave did well to battle back after going a goal down. The second half was mainly Sandiacre on the attack but the determination that Cotgrave showed, the battling qualities they had and their hard work meant that they got a point that their efforts deserved.

The team is improving very fast and they should be frightened of no one in this division now, and they know they can give anyone a good game. All the players were superb today and should be happy about the performance they gave as an individual and as a team.

Special mention to Jake, one save in the first half bought applause from everyone on the ground, but his two saves in the second half were brilliant, the second one was an absolute stunning save and worthy of man of the match award in it self. You won't see any better saves this season at any level of football.

What a great game to watch; Jake certainly pulled off some top drawer saves and Will had a great game too. Your team spirit saw you through today against a very good Sandiacre side.

Well done also to Ian Goulding for his performance (as referee); he was excellent with both sets of players.
