Cotgrave Colts Claret 3 St Anns Sneinton Blue 1
25th November 2007

First half

St Anns got the game underway today, and started the game with only six players on the pitch. Although St Anns were a player short, you would not of thought so. St Anns had much of the play in the first half, and if it was not for Keaton and George’s good defending, and some fantastic saves by Jake, we could of found ourselves in real trouble today. Johnny broke the deadlock in the 19 th minute with a fine strike into the bottom corner. Cotgrave remained under pressure for the majority of the half, but were fortunate to go in at half time 1-0 up.

Half time Cotgrave 1 – 0 St Anns Sneinton

Second half

Cotgrave got the second half underway, but found it difficult to break St Anns down. However, Johnny managed to complete his hat trick with goals on 33 & 35 minutes. St Anns kept battling, and were rewarded for their efforts in the 46 th minute with a late consolation goal.

Final Score Cotgrave 3–1 St Anns Sneinton

Summary

I think we are very lucky to have come away with any points today, let alone all three. Today’s performance was poor, but credit must go to St Anns for making us work hard. I am normally critical about how badly we defend, but today was the complete opposite. Well done to Keaton and George, and an even bigger well done to Jake for making some match winning saves. Well done Johnny for getting another hat trick this week. We need to buck our ideas up next week if we are going to continue our unbeaten run.

Didn't get chance to see your game today as the Under 13's were playing. I looked across at the final whistle (or your game) and saw you enjoying your win. It's great to see you winning and being consistent - keep it up!

Did you see things differently? Do you have anything to add? We will add feedback to the bottom of the report, but PLEASE refrain from personal criticism, whether it is players, referee, linesman, managers etc. If you do, then it will not be added. Try as much as possible to keep it positive.
