Cotgrave Colts Blue 0 Collingham 4
26th April 2008

With a massive improvement over the previous 2 games the young Cotgrave Blues went into the match full of confidence. The team of Harry, Harvey, Harry, Daniel, Alex, Elliot and Sam started well and began to pass the ball until an unfortunate lapse of concentration allowed the Collingham team to break through and score. The team continued to play well and created several chances for the strikers but unfortunately none of them were finished. Despite playing well Collingham again broke through and scored to the disbelief of the crowd. The introduction of Craig, Jordan and Matthew saw fresh legs encourage the team that continued to get the ball forward well but none of the changes went in. Despite Collingham again scoring the team continued to push forward and the final 10 minutes saw some great football and some great chances. Several shots and freekicks narrowly went over the cross bar and the goalie made some good saves. Despite an excellent team effort the ball just didn’t want to go in and the result certainly didn’t reflect the performance. A great game of exciting football by both teams.

A special mention must go to Craig, Man of the Match, who turned over a new leaf and worked excellently for the team across the pitch and came very close to scoring with some long range shots.
