Cotgrave Colts 1 West Bridgford 2
1st December 2007

A day for big strong players today as Cotgrave faced West Bridgford at home. Conditions were poor, cold and rainy, certainly not for the faint hearted. The game started well for Cotgrave with instant pressure on the Bridgford goal. Five mins in and a hand ball by the Bridgford defender gifted Cotgrave with a penalty kick. Up stepped Kenny to take, but a little rushed he scuffed the ball wide (never mind Kenny ,next time dude).

Cotgrave kept there heads up and kept pressing forward. We were rewarded 13 mins in, a corner from the right from Josh was poked in on the line by Charlie (well done Charile and well done Josh, three or four excellent corners today). C otgrave still pressed to pepper the Bridgford goal but could not increase their lead.

Half time: Cotgrave 1 Bridgford 0

The second half started good for West Bridgeford, who were kicking down the hill, a few chances before the equaliser 1-1. The game was very even, with two good sides having there fair share of chances. Brideford got the break 13 mins into the second half, a good run by the striker who slotted it away in the left corner to make it 2-1. In the last 5 mins Cotgrave had two or three good chances to even things up, but it was not to be.

Full time: Cotgrave 1 Bridgford 2

A good solid game by all players, but my man of the match was Lewis, a real good game 100% effort well done Lewis. Also well done James, another fine goalkeeping display keep it up. We lost 2-1 but me and Kev both believe this was the best game of the season. I think

you get more out of a game like this with two good even sides than you do by beating someone 11-0. So well done to everyone, loads to work on and keep up the good work. Thanks to Ralph for taking charge and Kev for putting up goals, it was nice to see him in the cold thanks Kev.
