Hucknall Warriors kicked off with both teams really wanting the win today, Cotgrave Colts received two throw-ins in the first minutes of the game, Hucknall gained control of the ball and attacked the goal, with Luke.S clearing the ball for a corner to Hucknall, good spirits from both sides ending in a further two corners being give to Cotgrave both taken by Jordan. Lewis headed the ball over the crossbar from one of the corners. Clark came out from the goal to retrieve the ball from a Hucknall attack. Cotgrave was on the attack again, with Jordan having a shot of the goal, being saved by the Hucknall keeper. Both sides having real enthusiasm today. Cotgrave received a free kick, and it was shot wide, Harrison's next goal shot was cleared by the keeper off the line, Hucknall then kicking back up the field for Kieran to collect and bring back down towards the goal, he tackled two players before losing control of the ball (well done). Hucknall then came back for another attack on the goal, with the ball being cleared by Luke.S, great defending today again Luke! Strong tackles. Cotgrave still keep control of the ball with Luis scoring his first goal of the game, making it 1-0 to Cotgrave. Carl then made a sub and put James on replacing Kieran. James quickly getting into the action having a shot on goal, being cleared by the keeper for a Cotgrave corner, Cotgrave had a further two shots on goal, both being saved by the keeper. Feedback: name: sara Involvement: Cotgrave Parent Hucknall's match report taken from their website Well done to Luke in goal. A brilliant attitude and excellent goalkeeper deserved man of the match in my opinion. Well done to all Cotgrave players who all get better and better each week. HUCKNALL WARRIORS U8'S 0 V COTGRAVE U8'S 9 Warriors recent good form came to a crashing end as high flying Cotgrave took the points in a one sided Young Elizabethan League U8's Green division match. On a wet and windy Nabbs lane pitch the visitors took 10 minutes to open the scoring and were soon gifted another as a mix up at the near post ended up with the ball in the back of the net. Cotgrave added a third just before the break despite the best efforts of Kyle Scothern,Jeff Townley and Harry Wright trying to stop the visitors adding to their score. Cotgrave started the second half the better and added three more quick fire goals which seemed to demoralise the Warriors players, despite this Charlie Gisbourne and Lewis Toop tried to get a grip of the game in the midfield but they were outpassed by the impressive Cotgrave midfield who continued to create chance after chance for their strikers. With Cotgrave creating so many chances Warriors were indebted to goalkeeper and man of the match Luke Watson who made several outstanding stops which included a fine penalty save in the second half. A disappointing performance for the Warriors who tried hard but never seemed to get going against an impressive Cotgrave side who are challenging for the title. Yet again another impressive performance from goalkeeper Luke Watson who continues to see his reputation grow as one of.......if not.... the best goalkeeper in the league. |
