| We
knew today would be a difficult game, against a very well organised Bagthorpe
side. With a couple of players missing, a hard surface and hot sunshine
it wasn't going to be easy. We started the first half kicking up hill, but rarely managed to get out of our half. Bagthorpe piled on the pressure from the start, and deservedly took the lead after a few minutes. After more pressure and several corners, Bagthorpe scored their second with a brilliant powerful header from another quality corner kick. thought we might of got back into the game kicking downhill, but we never
really got started in the second half. The heat was getting too much for
most of our players, and after a couple of knocks and tired legs we made
some changes. Bagthorpe went on to get four more goals in the second half
and definately deserved the victory today. Well done to a good Bagthorpe

| Summary We didn't seem to get out of bed today, and Bagthorpe took advantage, piling on the pressure from the start. A couple of Bagthorpe goals came from some sloppy defending, but to be fair they were denied by some good defending and excellent goal keeping too. Overall, Bagthorpe played well and they deserved the win. We still need to start heading the ball, and clearing the ball from our box quicker, so we are not putting as much pressure on ourselves. Todays Man of the Match goes to Mathew Sheppard for some good defending and for heading the ball when he needed to. Well done lads, lets look forward to our last game and lets go and enjoy it. |
