| Felt the need to post a short report for today’s
game. The boys were excellent today and if it hadn’t been for the
brilliant performance of the Netherfield goalkeeper, Cotgrave would surely
have got something from this game.
This is the teams first season, and as such they will
take time to come up to speed with the game. Today they showed that they
have what it takes. Every player played his part today; from superb goalkeeping
and tight defending, to strong midfield play and creative attacking. The
fans on the sideline all enjoyed the game; even Ralph stayed to watch
the battling performance. |
| There
will be more knock backs during the season (there always are) but if they
can match this performance level week-in, week-out they will, before too
long, get the right result.
Well done to all of the boys and to Roger. Also,
some very good refereeing from Mr Goulding who proved that he can still
keep up with the pace! |
| The boys played very well and with displays like this the boys can only progress. Well done to everyone including parents who manned the snack bar, players who were superb and Roger, keep up the good work. |
Feedback: name: Roger Bannister Involvement: Cotgrave Manager Firstly, thanks to Alan for writing the match report. I was extremely proud of my team today for the way in which they took everything we've been working on in training into a match. You hear the word 'bouncebackability' used a lot in football these days, and my team certainly have this, given that in our first ever 2 games as a team, we lost 8-0 and 10-1. The work rate of all boys today was tremendous, and as Alan stated, had it not of been for a superb display by the Netherfield 'keeper, we may have got something from this game. Still, there's plenty of positives to take away from this, and I'm confident we'll be back next week even stronger. |
Did you see things differently? Do you have anything to add? We will add feedback to the bottom of the report, but PLEASE refrain from personal criticism, whether it is players, referee, linesman, managers etc. If you do, then it will not be added. Try as much as possible to keep it positive.
